Refractions Evolution 2022
A collaborative dance concert is held each spring at the UT B. Iden Payne Theatre. All original choreography, music compositions, and lighting designs were made by students. For this performance, I was the lighting designer for the closing number 'Refractions', a story about breath. In addition, I was hired to be the board operator for this year. I timecoded the piece which had roughly about 80 cues in 7.5 min. Our team was going for a more industrial look so I suggested we perform the piece with no cycleroma, using only the bare bricks of the upstage wall. To help convey the breathing in the piece I utilized the zoom and iris functionality on our moving lights to make it appear as if the lights were breathing themselves. This piece was a featured piece on the @uttadaustin Dance Instagram.
