Blue Lapis Light Belonging II Universe

The main annual full-scale production of Blue Lapis Light, performing site-specific ariel dance. This performance took place at Capital 5000 Plaza directly next to the 360 Penny Backer Bridge. For this production, I was involved from start to finish from the site walk-through to the last day of strike. I was one of two crew chiefs for load-in. During tech, I was assistant LD to Alex Soto, the main designer and project manager for the production. I was the operator for the show's final week. Alex and I overcame many obstacles during this production. During the early stages of tech, we had to continuously raise the main truss arch due to the headlight reflection into the audience caused by the mirror film on the windows. In addition, weather and wind meant continuous refocusing and calibration of the double stacked projector unit on scaffolding. Timecoding the whole show together proved challenging at the beginning with continuously changing content but with several late nights, all technical errors were quickly mitigated.
